The Founder and Director of HEDUCA Awareness C.I.C, Ms. Christiana Naa Kwarley Hansen has been shortlisted as a finalist in the 2026 VCSFE Sector Leaders Awards, organized by Medway Voluntary Action (MVA).
She earned a place on the shortlist in the James Williams’ Award for Pioneering Leadership category, one of the event’s top honors recognizing individuals who have demonstrated exceptional leadership and innovation within the voluntary, community, social enterprise and faith (VCSFE) sector.
In an official communication to nominees, MVA described the awards as a platform to celebrate “the outstanding contributions of senior leaders” across Medway’s VCSFE landscape.
The awards ceremony is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at the Gillingham Golf Club in the United Kingdom.
The event will be hosted by Mayor-Elect, Councillor Douglas Hamandishe, and will bring together sector leaders, stakeholders and community actors for an evening of recognition and networking.
Reacting to the nomination, Ms. Hansen described the recognition as both humbling and motivating.
“I am truly humbled and honored to be shortlisted. This journey started from a very personal place, and to see it grow into something that is impacting lives and being recognized is overwhelming in the best way,’ she said.
For her, this is not only her achievement, “it belongs to every woman and girl whose story continues to inspire this work.”
Ms Hansen explained that her nomination for this prestigious award is a strong confirmation that the work “we do to empower women and girls is making an impact. This recognition is not just for me, but for the entire HEDUCA team and the communities we serve.”
She added that the nomination reinforces her commitment to advancing reproductive health education and social empowerment initiatives.
“We remain committed to breaking barriers, amplifying voices, and creating opportunities for vulnerable groups, especially women and young people. This inspires us to do even more.”
The MVA VCSFE Sector Leaders Awards will commence with a networking session at 6:30pm, followed by the main awards presentation at 7:15pm, where overall winners will be announced and honored.
Organizers say the event will also feature the People’s Choice Award, sponsored by The Practice Plus Group, alongside other categories celebrating leadership, innovation and community impact.
The HEDUCA Founder and Director will attend the ceremony as a finalist, where winners across all categories are expected to be unveiled.
